‘Crossing Wonderland’

A lot of my posts have dealt with some really cute projects.
Tree cozies.
Dancing toys.
Teeny tiny baby clothes.

Today… not so much.
I came across Patricia Waller while working on some exhibition research,
and I’ve been combing through the internet to find more information about her ever since.
Unlike Magda Sayeg’s stuff which is more about reclaiming public spaces, Waller uses her
yarn to make tongue-in-cheek critiques about society and works towards putting
wool within the “high art” cannon.

She sneaks up on us with seemingly friendly objects, but then brings out a darker element.
Hence a bright pink unicorn…that’s stabbed a teddy bear :S
Dragons…in a lab experiment
Miss Piggy… in a meat grinder
